Here is feedback on the new Heat Layer from one of our customer/testers

October 5th, 2017

The 120 miles from Susanville, CA to Mt Shasta City gains a lot of altitude. I left Susanville in the morning at 37 degrees.

Within several minutes of climbing the temp gage on my dash meter dropped alarmingly until it hit 24 degrees. It dropped to 21 degrees every time I went through shade. Fortunately it was dry, so no ice on the road. I averaged about 65 mph, so there was wind chill involved. I mostly ran the gloves at about 1/2 half to 3/4 power and the shirt about the same on my remote Duel Heat Troller. Once or twice I tried full power, but had to turn it down.

I wear an Aerostich suit with the base layer under it. In this case, I wore a thin layer over the shirt (An LD comfort wicking shirt). The12v Warm and Safe Heat Layer Shirt is brilliant. It is not bulky and does not in any way interfere with range of motion. Paired with warm and safe heated gloves, it makes a splendid system. I have been riding for over 50 years, but do not believe I have ever ridden in temps so low. Frankly when I saw this on the meter, I almost turned back to wait for higher temps. However, I did not have to! In fact, I was just fine. I love this Garment and know you will too!

  1. Great Product 5 Star Review

What I really like about this product is that it is form fitted better than a heated jacket or vest and therefore takes up less room under my regular riding gear.

  2. Sierra Nevada crossing 5 Star Review

Well thanks for the offer! In return here’s a picture of my recent (Dec ‘17) Sierra Nevada crossing wearing your heated layer shirt http://www.warmnsafe.com/mens-heated-layer-for-12-volt-gear/. It was about 22 degrees at the time (sunny western slope just coming into view!).
The only thing that got cold was my thumb (the reason for this order haha). You are welcome to post it on your website.

  3. Love my Warm and Safe heated layer. 5 Star Review

The W&S heated layer is perfect. All the warmth I need in a light weight non bulky design. I am sure those of us who ride in cold weather know what feeling like the Michelin Man is like because of all the bulky clothing. I wear this heated layer next to my skin with a light weight layer over to hold the heat. Buy it you will like it.

  4. Fantastic product 5 Star Review

Recently traded a heated jacket for this. Have ridden several times in the 36 to 60 range and the shirt was awsome. Felt much warmer than jacket . As a bonus Was not hot when powered off and temperatures were warmer. Much less bulky as compared to coat. I really appreciate the trade up program. I am 6’2 about 185 and the large fits perfect. I would recommend this and won’t travel without.
