We have been working on this for a few years. There are many people that need to stay warm off the bike but with a limited power supply, we had to design the Base Layer to work with the 7.4 volt battery. Limited to 5.4 amps, we had to balance heat and time and weight. The greater the voltage, the greater the weight for the amps you need because as you increase voltage you increase the need for more amps. More amps, again, more weight. Then to get good heat with a battery that you can carry, you need to focus the heat. but then if you try to use more voltage, such as a car or a power supply off the main power, you get too much heat. We have solved that problem with our new Base Layer Heat-troller.
Ordering may seem complicated and may be I should have done this differently.
Choice 1 is the base layer only for those who already have purchased before.
Just select the Size and that is it.
Choice 2 is the base layer for use only on 7.4V to 9V.
You select the base layer size, then the battery. With it you get a 7.4V controller, an extension cable to go from the base layer to the battery, battery charger and a battery belt pouch.
Choice 3 is the base layer for use with all voltages between 6.8 and 18V.
You select the base layer size, then the battery but from the second battery group, and the base layer 12V kit. You get the New Single Remote Heat-troller, 7.4V 5.4amp battery, charger, the extension cable and Battery Belt Pouch. The Optional 12V kit includes the following: 12V Battery Harness, 12V adapter cable, car power plug cable.
You can order more batteries.
if this is too complicated, let me know
The base layer has 7 areas of heat. The chest, upper arms, neck, upper back and lower back.
Has connections at the end of the sleeves for gloves or glove liners that will be coming out.
With our new remote heat-troller, it can take power from our 7.4volt battery or a 12volt source, from 6.8 volts to 18 volts with only a designed increase in watts.

Wanted heated jacket liner but saw this and have used it so many ways...and more to come. Used on bike ride on N. Mn snowy/rainy fall day and was smiling the whole time. So nice to be warm! Also used on riding lawnmower, or just out and about. Plan on using for hunting and ice fishing this fall/winter. I think my wife is jealous....something tells me she will get one too.
Great versatile product...only regret was not getting it sooner.

After freezing temps on a MC campout at Crater Lake in July I started looking at heated gear. I wanted something light that took minimal space for those 100+ temp portions riding through the desert but easy to pack and use for the 30- portions in the mountains. And if I could find something that would also work on batteries for SCUBA diving in a dry suit it would be awesome.
Mike suggested waiting for the baselayer and he was right, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm still waiting for the 12V adapter (believe it's in the mail now) but I've used the batteries both for a long Motorcycle ride and for a day of SCUBA diving and it works wonders. That tiny little battery lasts almost 3 hours on high and really helps you to stay warm. It's also great that it's such a light weight base-layer, so it works great with a traditional layering technique but with the ability to add heat when your existing layers just aren't enough or you waited too long to add and need to warm back up.
Great product, I'm recommending it to all my riding and diving friends for both MC and SCUBA use.

All I can say is that Mike, Deata, and Krysti at Warm N Safe are truly great! Talk about fabulous customer service and a fabulous product--Amazon and others could learn a thing or two from these people! No BS, just service!
I tried a new heated ski jacket from, as Mike would put it, "You know who," in December and sent it back immediately. It looked fine, but it just didn't work well at all. So, rather than giving up, I sent an email to Warm N Safe and got a phone call about twenty minutes later from Mike. In my email I explained that I have had diabetes for about 14 years and that with each winter my sensitivity to cold has just gotten worse and worse due to decreasing circulation. I have tried everything because I can't stand the cold--it literally hurts.
Mike suggested trying the new base layer which was due to arrive shortly, and having nothing to lose, I placed an order. Fast forward a week or so. We are having the worst winter in years here in NYC but I am not feeling it at all! It is truly a miracle for me, and I don't use that word lightly. I paired the base layer with a Spyder Alyeska ski jacket, and the combination cannot be beat. I love the heat troller also--remote radio control--how cool is that?
Kudos to Mike and the team at Warm N Safe! I recommend them and this product unequivocally, and I don't even ride...
All the best,

I have a XR600R with a limited power outut so Mike suggested the battery run base-layer.
Very comfortable and give a good amount of heat. Went out on an hour ride at -4c and was comfy at about 3/4 setting. The best bit is the warm neck.
Also ysed the baselayer while working in my unheated garage yesterday. Varied the setting between 1/2 and full and got about 2 hours of use before the battery went dead. Without the base layer, I'm sure I would have given up fixing my bike after 1/2 an hour!
Need heated socks a.s.a.p!
