So what does it really mean when some one has on their site or their product some inane
statement or out and out lie like, Made in the U.S.A. when we all know the content is mostly
from China and the assembly is in Mexico or the product label was designed to be cut so it
ends up saying Made in the USA. Or the advertising says the sweetest, the best, the warmest!
In most cases these are just advertising slogans that mean nothing. Like chocolate is part of
this healthy breakfast.
Let’s talk about the warmest clothing in the world or in the universe. So what are the facts.
As John Lennon said, “nothing you can do that can’t be done”. Or as I like to point out,
no matter what your rank is, there is always some one with more rank. In heated clothing, no
matter how warm you make the clothing, some one can make it warmer.
Only an idiot would say, they have the warmest clothing in the world, since all it takes to
make some one else’s clothing warmer is to increase the draw and add more bulk.
NEITHER OF WHICH MAKES ANY SENSE!!
If like us, the competition actually used the clothing they sold, or understood the
motorcycle situation, they would know that a balance must be struck between power draw,
heat and bulk. This balance is the key to all Warm & Safe Heated Gear. Coupled with the
Heat-troller, not the copy out of china but the real thing we make in the USA, we feel
that this balanced has been achieved in most cases.
In cases where the draw is too great for the charging system and heat must be sacrificed,
we make a liner with less draw and a little more insulation.
In all cases the gear is designed to fit snug, reducing heat loss.
So who has the warmest clothing on the planet, Janet? That is not the question you should be
asking. You should ask, who has the best clothing for my use. Who is the best and most
ethical company to deal with? And then get their products.
We at Warm & Safe Heated Gear, The Heat-troller, are proud to provide jobs to the US workforce. Made
in the USA may mean we make less money while keeping our prices below the China made imports,
but it just seems like the right thing to do. This is our home. This is the country that
gives us the ability to do business, to be free, to have a great life and a great education,
and to not provide jobs here when we can, is just plain wrong!
Yet in some case we can not obtain all the materials and components
that we use in our products in the United States. It is amazing that some parts are just
not manufactured in the US any more. Where we can, we use American made
parts and American labor in all of our products.
The Federal Trade Commission has attempted to determine what is means
to say a product is "Made in" the USA. Evidently it means nothing if you can not get Customs
to actually take action against a company that manufactured in Asia and had the original "Made in"
label so that it could be easily removed and a "Made in US" label with an American flag on it no
less, put in the clothing.
We do not place a "Made in USA" label in or on products that are manufactured in the US. WE will never swap out labels.
If we use foreign content to a degree that we need to let you know, we will make sure we are proud to
do business with the people and the country we partner with. AND at no time will our products be
designed by non-bikers and non-Americans. Nor will our products be designed to use materials by the
cheapest duty rate rather than using materials that meet the requirements of the products and their
use even if the duty rates are higher. We will either sell the best product or there is no reason for
us to be doing this. If you want China made copies or crap, then you can buy it some where else and
even pay more for it. Also, we will never keep our name on a Made in the US list, after we no longer
meet their requirements as others have done.
Thanks and stay warm no matter what you are doing!
