  1. Fit for a Lady 4 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Apr 2016

This is my first Warm and Safe but second heated liner. Warm and Safe has a superior fit to the Gerbing product, and fit is important with a heated liner, plus they make small women's sizes. The only negative is no wind protection. You need to layer to get the full benefit from this heated liner.

  2. Great Company, Great Gear 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Feb 2016

I have not yet worn my liner when it is REALLY cold, but it kept me comfortably warm, even though not turned on full power, during a rainy ride at 40 degrees. That day I wore a WoolX base layer under the liner and my 3-season riding jacket with it's quilted liner over the W&S liner. It was a rather bulky combo, but my bike doesn't generate many spare watts and I fear that running the liner at full power might be too much for it. I have also ridden at the same temperature with an UnderArmor/WoolX base layer combo under the liner and the jacket sans its quilted liner over it, and been warm with not quite the bulk.

I am 5'7" and 165 pounds. I typically wear a Large top and Medium pants, and the W&S Large fits me like a glove. I experimented with various base layers and find they make a difference. My lightweight REI undershirt did not help disperse the warmth nearly so evenly as do my WoolX or Capilene4 base layers.

The W&S customer service is phenomenal! I have traded emails with both Michael Coan and Mike Ebers and found each of them to be very helpful. I am now a devoted customer.

I was very happy with how well this liner worked. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for heated gear.

  4. warmnsafe replaces gerbings 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Feb 2014

I had a Gerbings heated jacket for 10 years - it never let me down, but I didn't care for the bomber jacket style. When I first saw the style of warmnsafe a couple of years ago, I wanted one. I finally broke down this winter and got one! I love the fit of my new warmnsafe - snug where it needs to be, no binding, and it tucks well inside my riding pants. The fit, and more heating elements lower down in the jacket, keep my kidneys and lower lumbar warm too!
