I was having trouble with my older controller losing the signal to my Gen IV jacket liner receiver, the inexpensive upgrade to the AAA battery powered remote controller fixed the problem.

I had an older version that took the coin cell battery. This one uses a set of AAA batteries. That's not why I wanted a spare... the newer revision does what my old one didn't.... the older version, if I unplugged my liner from power (like when refueling), I would have to turn one of the knobs all the way off in order to adjust it again... the older remote would go into some form of "sleep" mode. The new one (This one), you just turn the knobs from where they are, and it will turn on and transmit. Annoying feature of the old one, new one is improved, and uses cheaper batteries. Bought an additional one once I figured this out :) Great product.

I have the Gen IV jacket, gloves and dual remote. I use them May to November and easily add a month and a half on either end of my riding season. I keep everything right in my saddlebag for foggy days or late nights even in mid summer. I find that being warm and comfortable has increased the amount I ride as well as my enjoyment of what would have been marginal riding days. I only wish I had got electrics earlier. I recently upgraded to the replacement controller using W&S's generous upgrade policy. I can and do highly recommend them, and wouldn't hesitate to replace them if I am ever able to wear them out.

I took my controller off, ended up losing it, and had to buy a replacement. It got here in no time. I bought all my heated gear from this company. I've had it for years now and it still works wonderfully.
I LOVE IT. Nice people to deal with too. I was missing a knob on my first one and they gave me a new one no questions asked.
